The total required funds should include:
Let’s look at a sample calculation to understand how much a student should show as maintenance funds for their studies as per the increased maintenance fee. (From January 2,2025)
Please note:
1. The tuition fees listed are for illustrative purposes only; refer to your university’s website or offer letter for actual fees.
2. Initial deposit amounts vary by university; paying more than required can lower your total fund requirement.
3. The total maintenance fee is fixed for 9 months, regardless of program length exceeding one year.
4. The total required funds are the minimum you must maintain in your bank account for 28 consecutive days or as part of an education loan.
5. Paying for university accommodation also reduces the total required funds.
6. Some universities, may have campuses both in London and outside the city. If your course is taught at a London campus, you will need to meet the Inner London maintenance requirements.
By showing both the tuition fees and maintenance funds, you’re demonstrating your financial ability to support your studies in the UK.
Ensure you have the necessary funds in place before applying for your student visa.
